Mental Health Counseling with Leslie DeMarco, LMHC
Mental health counseling for adults ages 18+
Mental health counseling for adults ages 18+

I focus my practice on working with emerging clinicians, healthcare providers that may be experiencing depression, anxiety, witnessed traumatic events, or compassion fatigue (burnout). I utilize a range of techniques, including exposure, EMDR therapy, CBT techniques, and DBT modalities tailored to your individual needs and abilities, all without judgment or unsolicited advice.
I also work with people that may be experiencing chronic pain or change in health, grief and loss, aging, depression, anxiety, life changes, or challenges that you no longer have coping skills for.
Initial sessions emphasize building rapport, trust, and a collaborative relationship, and creating a space for you to heal and move forward. Symptoms such as vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout often arise from the demanding nature of this work, especially without the necessary supports in place. With many years in crisis services, inpatient care, and community crisis outreach alongside first responders, I understand how public expectations can clash with the actual resources available within the healthcare system. For emerging clinicians, students, and associate licensed providers, I offer clinical supervision aimed at preventing compassion fatigue, developing effective self-care plans, and establishing healthy boundaries early in your career. This supervision functions as a partnership with mutual collaboration. I interview all potential supervision candidates to ensure we are a good clinical fit, and I can meet your specific licensure requirements. We also establish a supervision contract that outlines goals and boundaries within our working relationship.
